Michael Joseph Stumpf is a native of Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and a veteran of the United States Navy.
In 1988, after serving as Executive Vice President of a regional bank, he established a marketing and branding advertising agency which he ran for thirty years. He has served on over a dozen non-profit boards and is a past president and chairman of the award winning Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce where he was extensively involved in the arts community. In 1989 he was asked to serve as the Executive Director of the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown.
For over 15 years, he studied painting with the distinguished internationally recognized artist William Arthur Smith.
Michael is also founder and president of Navidad Nativities Inc. and has been creating distinctive, custom settings for nativities since 1980. Navidad Nativities have been reproduced and sold internationally through 5000 retail locations with an exclusive licensing agreement with the Fontanini Division of Roman, Inc., one of the world’s leading producers of exclusive gift and decorative holiday products. Navidad Nativities are part of the permanent collection of Glencairn Museum, Bryn Athyn, Pa,, The Blessed Michael McGivney Pilgrimage Center/Knight of Columbus Museum in New Haven CT and Trinity Church Wall Street in Manhattan.
Navidad Nativities are part of private, corporate, museum and church collections nationwide. He has been represented by two prestigious showrooms at AmericasMart in Atlanta over the years. And in 2008, he was invited to appear with his nativities on the nationally syndicated Martha Stewart Show.
Michael is now retired from the advertising industry and spends hours working in The Sanctuary Atelier, his studio, doing fine art and continually creating new custom works for clients for both fine art and the custom Nativity settings small and large.
